Update for April 2007: Since the last update, Larry and Anna Nicole Smith's mother were scheduled to meet on April 14th 2007 to hammer out an agreement regarding custody of Danilyn (Anna Nicole Smith's baby daughter). This comes after the Bahamas courts gave the two some time to come to an agreement without Court intervention.
Earlier this month the Court, after DNA tests were ordered, announced that Larry was the biological father of Danilyn. Howard Stern announced that he would not fight Larry for custody and that he would remain in the Bahamas to be with Anna Nicole and her son. Update for Friday Mar 2 2007: Today is the day of Anna Nicole Smith’s funeral, so I said why not pass out by the funeral service location to see what was going on. Well, I didn’t want to call in a sick day (yes I do a little real work on the side) so I drove to the Sandy Port location around 10am. I had heard on Fox news last night that the funeral service was to be at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church in sandy Port. How is it that Fox news knows more about this than ZNS? Anyways lets move on..
As to be expected the Bahamian crowd had already started gathering around the church plus your smattering of tourists. The international media was there. Cameras set upstairs in the surrounding buildings. The Darrold Miller Show’s tent was set up on the Southern side of the Church. The police wasn’t let anyone near the church so I parked and milled about the crowd to snap a few photos.

 Update for Wed Mar 1 2007: Anna Nicole Smith's Funeral set for Friday Mar 2nd 2007 at 10:30 am in Nassau, Bahamas. Bahamian media reports that security will be enforced and it will be by invitation only. This comes after a Florida Court of Appeal denied, Anna's mother her request to turn over her daugher's body to her. The Bahamian cemetery has already become a tourist attraction in Nassau.
 Update for Wed Feb 28 2007: Anna House Reportedly for sale starting at $10 million: Horizons, the Bahamian oceanfront estate in which Anna Nicole lived, its current owners, per TMZ.com, are currently interviewing brokerage firms.
Update for Monday Feb 19 2007: Official Resigns: Saying that his wife and family have suffered enough, Minister of Immigration and Labour Shane Gibson last night announced his resignation from the Cabinet in a nationally televised broadcast.

NASSAU, Bahamas - A newspaper published two photographs on its front page Monday showing Anna Nicole Smith lying in bed fully clothed in a romantic embrace with a Bahamian minister.
Two photographs published on the front page of the Tribune show Smith and the official looking into each other’s eyes with their faces only a couple inches apart while lying on a bed decorated with pink flowers and a white ribbon.

I was quietly working on a project this past Thursday with CNN news playing in the background when the repeated mention of the Bahamas caught my ear. Anna Nicole Smith had died unexpectedly in Florida (Feb 8th 2007). First thing came to mind was my sympathies for the lady.
 She has been through so much with the death of her Son last year during the birth of her daughter who is now 5 months old. In addition she is embroiled in numerous lawsuits from people trying to kick her out of her Bahamas home to Boyfriends (or ex-boyfriends) fighting over her child’s paternity. I have heard Bahamians say, we are lucky this didn't happen in Nassau or worse yet Doctors Hospital, considering her son had already died there under seemingly mysterious circumstances. Well it appears that when Anna died her baby was not with her at the time and was actually staying with a high ranking Bahamian Government official (as reported by a Bahama Journal reporter who called into Fox news and numerous CNN reports). They report that the baby is being kept by the Sister of the government official (per Fox News) or the Mother of the government official (per CNN). Yahoo even has a photo of the Bahamian official's home on the internet. Lawd.. It seems that the Anna Nicole Scandal will continue in the Bahamas even after her death. Wonders how long it will take for this to be inserted into the FNM’s election Rallys.  The saga began I guess when Anna Nicole moved to the Bahamas and got Permanent Residence status in the Bahamas in something that the Bahamas opposition has pounced on.
Anna Nicole also married (or at least a ceremony of some sort) in the Bahamas as the attached photo shows. It was a ceremony aboard a boat in the Paradise island area.  News: I got my mother out of Freeport before Frances hit. Don't know how her home fared, but she moved out to West End when she got too old to work, and they say that 85 percent of West End was destroyed, and what's left - 85% needs repair. Mum's home is probably matchsticks, but she doesn't care anymore. The only thing that wasn't hit in the direction, was Old Bahama Bay.

Now, before you get all excited and think that this is another article on lesbian exploitation, get your mind out of the freakin’ gutter! Believe it or not, it appears that many Bahamian women are seeking relationships with women for more than sexual reasons.
“Think about it, why do females usually have female best friends? That’s because there is something you can only ever share with a female. And there is a different bond that is created,” said Sexciflo, who emphasized that companionship, honesty, loyalty (the same qualities that heterosexuals seek after) are top
prioprity for lesbians also.
For those who don't know, Sexciflo (or ‘Flo’ as she is called in the chatroom), is bisexual. At age 16, she realized that she was “equally attracted” to males and females.
She’s has been in relationships with women, but for the past 3 years she’s been with a man - though she admits that at the beginning of the relationship she was still dating women on the side.
Flo believes that there is a stronger bond forged when bisexual women come together since they are abnormal in society’s eyes, but really find a degree of normality in each other. After all, they understand those feminine tendencies like mood swings, emotional stress, periods - all the things that men either don’t understand or just don’t want to hear about.
Skittles (also known as Dotz and Skitz in the chatroom), is also bisexual. Curious for 3 years, she had her very first lesbian experience about a year and half ago. And contrary to what many people believe about lesbians, it wasn’t some bad experience with a stupid or ridiculous man that caused this change in Skitz’
life. It was really the result of her own curiousity and attraction to other females.
While she doesn’t think that bisexuality is necessarily a growing trend in the Bahamas, she does know women who have relationships with women simply because others are doing it.
But claiming to be bisexual or even a lesbian for that matter, simply because you’re into experimenting, seeing what the hype is all about, or if you feel a woman can do certain sex acts better than a man, may not be the best reason. According to the popular lingo, that means you’re just “curious” and can switch back to men exclusively at any given moment.
“...I personally don't believe you can just switch back and forth if it's something real and you really feel that's the way you are,” she said. So that means that a bisexual female, though dating a male can still find herself attracted to females. It’s not like she shuts off that part of her.
While Flo and Skitz - and MANY other women logged on to Bahamiansonline - are bisexuals, LuvHer (aka eNvY mE, Nammy), who is also a frequent Bahamiansonline chatter is a full-fledged lesbian.
“I’m 100 per cent lesbian. What that mean is that I’m fully attracted only to women emotionally, mentally, physically,” she explained.
“I don’t date, sleep or flirt with men. I don’t have a problem wit men, I jus don’t want to date them.”
By attitude and appearance, LuvHer is what you might call a “soft butch”. She’s been dating females since age 16, but had her first lesbian experience at age 13.
Since Bahamian society still doesn’t accept this lifestyle Nammy found herself adopting a boyfriend simply for appearance sake, though she was never really “content” in any of those heterosexual relationships.
But these days, she’s totally liberated and has completely embraced her sexuality with the mantra that she only has one life to live and she’s gonna live it for her, not giving a “shit” what anyone else thinks.
With all the negative feedback and backlash that lesbians and bisexuals get these days, I agree with Nammy when she say’s that “no one in their right mind”
would choose to be a homosexual. But she says that a lot of women can’t help it because frankly, that is who they are.
And about this apparent trend of women becoming gay, Nammy believes that they’re not “turning gay” per se.
It’s just easier for them to be open about their sexuality now.
“Nobody just wakes up one morning, rolls over and says, ‘hey I’m going to eat some pooci today’. That had to be something she was planning or a way she felt for a long time and was just looking to blame someone.
It’s just easier to blame someone else,” she said.
