It appears that after two direct hits from Hurricanes over the past few years, many businesses are still recovering and the job situation is dire. It was just a few years ago when Bahamians were heading to Freeport, Grand Bahama in droves to take advantage of more affordable real estate. Now that trend is reversing as Grand Bahamians, especially the younger adults like recent graduates are heading to New Providence and nearby Abaco for employment. |

A National Energy Corporation would cost the government less than $500,000 a year to operate, it was claimed yesterday. Minister of Trade and Industry Leslie Miller made the announcement while he was a guest on a daytime radio talk show. A long time advocate of the energy corporation, Minister Miller said it could save The Bahamas millions by cutting out the middleman. |
