Here's the problem folks. Comments are invited as to what I should do.

I am dating a wonderful woman. She is a professional. She is well educated. She is witty. She is kind. She is articulate -- the whole package except one thing -- she has no style sense. Most of her professional life is spent in attorney robes (black robes which covers her dress). When she goes to work, she looks conservative, neat, and sober as a judge.

Then when she goes out with me, she explodes into a phantasmagora that embarasses me. No shit -- it looks like Junkanoo on acid. The nail colour is wild, and doesn't match the lime green or electric pink lipstick. The earrings look like medieval medical instruments with big hoops and 'thingies' hanging from them. The pants are a little too low cut and show a bit of skin, which I think is inappropriate for a women who has passed thirty. The hair is wild. The clothes are just a little too tight (not from a sexy point of view, but from a fashion sense where you don't look like a sausage bursting out of its skin).

And the other thing is, I don't like getting the tongue in public. Several times, passers-by shouted at us 'get a room' when she was kissing me goodnight, all wrapped around me like two mating earthworms.

Don't get me wrong. I like her exuberance, life, zest, zip and her sensuality. It's just that I think that she goes a little overboard when she is not working. She won't entertain any suggestions to tone it down, and besides it would hurt her if I said these things to her face.

I never want to be embarassed of the woman on my arm, and yet this woman needs a few style pointers. We are going to the Pops symphony tonite at the National Arts Centre, and I just dread to think of what she will show up in.
