"Honestly I get annoyed when ladies and idiotic men try to label men, specifically Bahamian men, as wutless and irresponsible. Everyday I am bombarded with silly labels, such as dead beat dad, or wutless man or some other negative comment carefully crafted to demean us.

A fiery exchange between Ocean13 and several of the Forum members on the causes and effects of Dead Beat Dads in the Bahamian Society.

Truely if you are not careful you would really allow comments like these to creep into your psyche and grow fruit. In order to investigate the origins of this negativity and male hatred I went on a private investigation and found the following to be sources:

1. The hateful ex-wife/ girlfriend. This is the principal cause of the male hatred. This person exemplifies scorn and generally takes on the position that since she cant have the man then she would do anything at her disposal, including her powerful tongue, to destroy the man. Thus generally puttin out all kind of vile, and heaven forbid if a child is involved. This hateful creature would go all out to portray the poor man as an irresponsible dead beat who has no love in his heart of his own flesh and blood. In cases I have been privy too, this is pure lies and bullshit, in that the men from my view often times go out their way to try to become a part of the kids life, but only to be met by this hateful creature who uses every opportunity to throw 'garbage' in the man's face, and using the child as a weapon to bring the man to dirt-level. And thus relishes the though of taking the man to court to claim for child support or some other frivolous complaint. Only to the satisfaction of this lieing monsta.

2. The Stupid Preacher. This idiot uses his public forum in the form of a pulpit to decry how wutless Bahamian men are and how the poor woman has to take the responsibility of childcare on their fragile shoulders. Further showing how men need to stop being boys and become like the men of old who love their families and put the god first. And even going as far as crying for the men of the nation. What a pile of hog mess. I know personally of men who go all out to take care of their kids, and really have only come across one such creature as this who goes around impregnating woman at whim and abandoning his responsibilities.

Honestly i get the impression that we are a nation of men-haters or men-destroyers. So please comment, are we a nation of men-haters and are the majority of men dead beat as proclaimed?

Ocean until you've had the lovely experience of pushing a grapefruit out of something the size of a grape you have no expertise in this area. I have a wonderful son who didnt even see his father on father's day. In fact his father didnt even come get him for his wedding. I get maybe $200 every 4 months or so, what the hell that gone do fa me. My son is a very active growing boy and $200 worth a grocery aint nuttin dese days. But anyway thank God fa dat at least that 2 week a grocery when I do get it. I am not bitter but I am mad as hell that men these days if they cant have you or cant rule your life choose not to be part of their childrens lives. So for God sake dont come in here actin like we crying rape on unsuspecting victims (men) cause half da time they deserve it.

I even told him he dont have to see me, my son is ten he can call his dad, meet him to the corner, pick him up from school on fridays for all i care. At least show some interest. His excuse is he cant take him to his practice or his games on saturdays. Oh and thats another thing have you ever been on a baseball field on the weekend. Mothers from pillar to post but you can count the number of dads present. Its pathetic. For the type of man he PRETENDED to be when we dated and when my son was born I never saw this coming or else I woulda hooked my baby up with a better dad, he deserves it.

Princess i agree with you one hundred percent. My baby is now 8 months her dad has held her once for about five seconds. I was alone my entire pregnancy he didn't check and hardly do now only see him at the end of the month to pay nursery fee that i have to run him down for and thats it. He doesn't even call i have to always call him he never has money now either. but there was a gold mine when i wasn't pregnant and all the time in the world.

And all men are not alike its just a few. But am not worrying bout a thing every dog has there day and his is fast approaching.

i have a little dauter whome i adore her mom doesn't work and i do everiting to support her.i have no complaints but after a harddays work sumtimes and aother the following day sumtimes i can't understand how da f**% da woman could get mad if i don't get up @ four in the morning when the baby cries.now am too label as a worthless man to some of her friends.Explain that

I'am a farther of two , my ewife get on my nerve but my kids come first no matter what she does and the boy is not mine that I made but i love him just like girl he was 1 and a half and now 16 my girl is 12 god give to me and by dam I am going to my best for love your kids they did not ask to come here
