Family or Career
by Leesugar

Few people realize that the choice of family or career is not an absolute choice. It is possible to have both at the same time. It is just a matter of adjusting your needs and expectations accordingly.

Any career that forces you to choose between it and your family is clearly not the career for you. That does not necessarily translate into not having a career, just not having that particular career. Therefore would you sacrifice family for career?

Re: Family or Career
by PeasnRice

I would not personally, but I'm a guy and dont have to ask my boss for 3 months off to have a baby and to ask them for time off to do school runs. Therefore my answer is easy to say NO.

For females, I know the right answer is to say NO, but I'm sure many put career first by putting off having children because the boss told them they cant afford to have them be away 3 months and cant keep their job...

avatar I believe it is important to put career first, because you only have one chance to get it right. you can always have kids and build a family in the future-that is, if you are young. there is no need to go and have kids at an early age, sitting around the house waiting for the baby daddy to bring you money. Lets say 65% of young ladies today in the Bahamas don't want a career because they are hungry for vanity; 15% are trying to obtain a career but are under presure from family and friends;5% are rich and have no worries. so, with a career or not, they are ok.The other 15% are being train to Alcoholic, and i blame that on sociaty. the minute these young ladies get out of school they are big-up and hungry. think about it. Everytime you meet one, they want a phone card or something to eat.
