Mum and Miss Knowlton took the Jeep to a town 20 some miles away where there is a WalMart. While there, she bought a digital camera for $28.88. That's not a misprint -- twenty-eight bucks. And its not one of those webcams -- it's a cheapie cheapie, made in China, throw-away digital.
There is no memory card. You have to download directly to your PC thru USB. And the resolution is the pits -- a 640x480 pic with either 100 or 300 pixels/sq in . Ferget yer mega-pixel resolution. Nonetheless, Mum is pleased as punch. She went around photographing erryting. Mum has joined the digital age -- what next -- MP3 player. Anyway, here is a mini showing of Mum's first digital pics: The Old Apple Tree ![]() Old Apple Tree Mum was heartbroken when the winds of hurricane Rita came and cracked the old tree in half. The tree is 140 years old, and Mum made her first dollar in Canada off this tree. There are still apples on the tree (inset). Mum moved to the downstairs bedroom, and as a result she has patio doors. She gets up in the morning and checks out the day from her own patio. This is the view each morning. Mum's constant companion is the dog we borrowed from my boss to help with the goats. Here he is retrieving two frisbees hoping that someone would give them a toss. The Goat Pasture ![]() Toby in Goat pasture This is Toby in the goat pasture on his way to the back 40 to round up the goats. It rained today. Mum is pleased as punch, and it even more thrilled that you don't have to buy film and you don't have to wait fer processing. I'm buying that special glossy paper to print them on a colour printer, but I'm saving that surprise for her tomorrow. |
