Greek Fest Bahamas Style E-mail

This past weekend I was downtown doing some shopping at Hoffers to get me some shades and I decided to stroll around town for several minutes just to see what happens downtown on the weekends.

After walking several blocks and seeing the usual hustle and bustle of Cruise ship visitors, local peddlers and a couple Bahamians shopping I spotted this sign that said Greek Festival . So I thought this should be interesting. Will there be step dances and stuff?

Anyways so I called up my boy (he lived in marathon) and asked him if he was interested in checkin it out. He was for it because as it was it was that or playing some ball on the courts and ya know sun was hot!

So I had to ride round marathon and pick him up. On the way there caught a flat and was fixing tire on the side of the road. Boy I hate when that happens. All dese nails in the road man (smt).

So we buss down to the festival, which was on the corner parallel to the American’s embassy which is next to McDonalds. It was right off Malborough St heading west.

We paid the $3 per person to enter and we were amazed at what was inside. It wasn’t a Greek Step dance show, it was about the history of the Greeks and their Church in the Bahamas. They had Greek Food - a Greek spit roasting sheep, a tour of their church, Greek artifacts and even a little booth where they were showing how to make Greek bread.

Well it wasn’t a Greek step show, but it was interesting.

I tell ya this thou, they have some fine looking Greek women in this lil place. Me and my boy were to shy to ask anyone for their digits thou. Plus no one was hanging like that. Most of the gals didn’t give me and my boy a second look.. Vell jah!

Anyways enjoy the little photos someone snapped and let me know what ya think of our little adventure.
