Police on Bay

Bahamians and Visitors may remember the 'old' Bay Street scene with a smartly dressed Police man or Police woman standing at the intersection of Bay and East Street. Well they are bringing it back; what a fantastic idea.

The Bahamas Visitor Security and Safety Board has initiated the program that currently has officers on Bay & Fredrick Street and Bay & East Street, areas prone to heavy traffic and congestion. The Police officers are trained to expedite the flow of traffic, however they will also act as a deterrent to other types of crimes both pedestrian and traffic.

Kudos to The Ministry of Tourism for supporting this program. Seems like it will be a great boon for visitors to get a uniquely Bahamian photo with our officers dressed smartly in their crisp white tunics and other police attire. Maybe it would be worth a shot to export this to Freeport and Abaco as well.
