Crime Solution

Image Ok, listen it pains me to hear the political rants like this about Crime. Why not offer real solutions and lets vote on it.

Lets have National Service Instituted.

Why cant we have a system that says for all young people who come out of hight school you have 3 choices and you must do one:

1. Go onto further education/College
2. Get a job, and prove it by showing your NIB contributions
3. Join the National Service (paid salary)

The above will solve our crime issues, our youth instead of being idle will become productive.

So you say, what will they do in National Service. There are so many projects we can use our youth on; from building the country's infrastructure like roads, we have have them become a part of our Police reserves, become tourism ambassadors etc.

How do we pay for it, we can either utilize increases in Sin taxes eg. increase taxes on alchol and cigarettes or utilize the National Service workers in industry where we get the private sector to help pay the cost of the labour.

Listen, status quo is not working and hasnt been working for many years.

If we want to get serious about CRIME we have to do some thing Different!

I am a hard FNM... but seriously the NEW FNM aint cuttin it point blank. I can't believe Hubert Ingraham doesn't believe in the death penalty, where did this come from all of a sudden when in fact under the old FNM serious murderers were being hung left and right (especially if they killed tourists it seems) and now it's a different story.

I firmly believe in the death penalty and I am a conservative person. I say where one is guilty let them suffer the consequence. Today jail seems like a vacation. Prisoners do nothing but sit around all day - thanks to humane advocates. Why treat people humanely when they perform inhumane acts? Why feed them curry if they should eat gruel? Whatever happened to hard labour?

Here's my proposal on crime call it eccentric if you wish but hey crime is getting out of hand and with other industries (well mainly tourism) being affected by our crimrate (well pretty much murder) something drastic must be done. Some of these are actually practised today anywho and since the Bahamas likes to take the ideas of others instead of coming up with it's own .. these can be practiced.

Traffic offenses - Offenders should be made to wear signs and go out on public intersections and still pay the fines and perform necessary community service. Why waste precious space in jail when they can really suffer grave humiliation at the hands of the public?

Robbery- You lose one limb and if you continue you subsequently lose another until you learn your lesson.

Rape - Immediate Castration! Why should instruments of crime be left in the possesion of criminals. They take knives and guns away, why can't literal biological weapons be taken?

Drug Crime - same as Robbery and/or traffic offences. Or you can get a non-anethetised labotomy.

Murder - Death Penalty... and for those who do not believe in hanging there is always death by firing squad, lethal injections, electricution, beheading or torture.

People who have been accused of violent crimes guilty or not (most of which are probably guilty anyways) should not recieve bail at all. All offenders of the law should have a punishment directly proportional to their act.
