...he passed away today suddenly. One minute he was cleaning his yard and the other, he was dead.
Mr. Wilmott is one of the key founders of the Fox Hill "week" festival in Fox Hill. The last festival, was named in his honour!
Please pray for his family!

Yesterday, during the 1PM news, Love 97 reported that hurricane Hanna left 18 dead in Jamaica.
Not one word about the 100:s lost in Haiti. Considering the huge Haitian population in the Bahamas, this just makes me sick to my stomach. I've tried to call the news room and ask why, but they're not answering.
I know that many Bahamians resent their presence here, but crumbs! ~ a major broadcasting co; can they too really be that biased?
Shame on them!

I was reading a post by one of our members, Sonny Bahamas, who also, apparently, represents BahamasB2B on MySpace.
The post piqued my interest, so I thought I'd mosey on over and read her (?) blog on MySpace also.
Hey, Sonny, great stuff!
Interesting and varied information, and even some good advice on a variety of subjects.
I've revisited the blog a few times over the past week and I think it is one of the freshest, "sunniest" blogs in The Bahamas.
She (?) doesn't appear to be a journalist or even a professional writer and the blog appears to target young women. But I like the candidness of the entries, the fresh tone and spunky attitude. Especially in contrast to the politically inspired, boring or angry stuff on other Bahamian blogs. (Who said, "Like this one?")
Check out Sonny Bahamas' BahamasB2B MySpace Page and tell me what you think.

Hey everyone,
Just some well wishes for you all. Be safe...no unnecessary heroics please. I wouldn't like for any of you to go missing. We are supposed to get hit real hard in the coming hours, and the Red Cross and Social Services have been working hand in hand to make the best out of all possibilities. Shelters have been designated here in Exuma and hopefully all personnel and volunteers are ready to be called upon, but of course are hoping that such is not necessary. Last year Noel dumped tons of rain over a three day period and there was one loss of life. It is hoped that we in The Bahamas will be more fortunate than some have been. Our condolences go out to those that have lost property and loved ones.
I don't know when I'll be back online so until next time folks - take care!

How can crooked, corrupt police handle complaints about THEMSELVES? It's about time someone suggested this.
This will either never happen or they will select someone corrupt to be the independent body.
it's a cloudy day for sonnybahamas.
